Student Intern Program
Are you looking for a unique opportunity to gain professional experience while making a difference in your community? The Civitan Foundation, Inc. may be the solution you are searching for to fulfill your academic, professional and personal needs.
Purpose – Internships are available year round and are designed to allow students the chance to:
- Apply their academic course work to a hands-on practical experience.
- Work directly with people who provide high quality services to individuals of all ages and abilities.
- Exchange ideas with professionals in their preferred field.
- Impact and directly improve the lives of children and adults of various abilities.
Term – Intern schedules vary according to the internship position and to accommodate class schedules. Interns are asked to work 20 – 30 hours a week which may include evenings and weekends.
Eligibility – Internships at Civitan Foundation, Inc. are designed for current undergraduate and graduate students.
Compensation – Unless otherwise noted in individual internship descriptions, most internships at
Civitan Foundation, Inc. are performed on a volunteer basis. Staff members will aid in the intern’s pursuit of academic credit, if applicable.
Application/Review Process – To apply, candidates must submit:

- Copy of Transcripts
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendation

Upon receiving application materials, an acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to candidates. Internship selection is based on academic standing, letters of recommendation, and interviews (required for all finalists in the selection process).
All applicants are notified of Civitan Foundation, Inc.’s decision to offer or decline an internship within one month of the respective application deadline.
